During the summer of 2002,
approximately 45 students from the Little Egg Harbor Intermediate School participated in
an enrichment program called the "Virtual Community Tour". The program involved
students entering grades 4, 5, and 6 in the fall. The program was an extension of a
similar programs that took place previous summers entitled the "Virtual Seaport
Project" and the Virtual Community
Project 2001
Students were divided into six groups with responsibilities
for researching and creating a "virtual tour" of local cultural, environmental,
and historical locations as well as interviewing local veterans.
Students gathered information by talking to local historians,
musicians, scientists, and veterans. In addition they recorded images, sound, and movies
using digital cameras. All of this information helped them create their "Virtual
Community Tour.
In order to view some of our multimedia options you will need to have two additional
programs: Quicktime and Windows
Media Player or Real
One Player.
All of the students involved in the program worked very hard and are hoping you will
enjoy their "Virtual Community Tour".
