will be informing you of upcoming events, school news,

and other important information.  You can find daily

homework assignments next to the teacher's name. 

We hope you find this information useful.

their names.  There you will find various links to

enhance specific content areas.

Students will receive their textbooks for home. Each textbook is

numbered, and students are responsible for their numbered set.

Black Bear Lake Trip is Thursday, May 24th!

Permission slips were sent home for parent signature and returned to us ASAP!

**Students need to come to school on time.  The busses depart school at 9AM and return by 5PM.  Parents must be at school by 5PM to pick up your child. 

**With help from the PTA, students will only have to pay $26.00 which includes all food and drinks and all activities!!!

**Payment for the full amount is due by Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 and is non-refundable!

**Checks must be made out to Frog Pond Elementary for the exact amount.

**School reserves the right to remove any student from the trip due to behavior problems.

Promotion Project Information

*Research Paper Rubric Change

*Project Timeline:

  -Tuesday, February 21st: choose topic

  -Monday, March 12th: produce 3 different types of resources and

    have 3 main ideas, thesis statement and begin note-taking

  -Monday, March 19th: rough draft of essay due

  -Monday, April 2nd: Paper is due.  Hand in rough draft, note taking sheets, final typed draft,

                                        outline, and bibliography

  -Tuesday, April 17th: day of grading the papers

  -Week of April 22nd: Oral Presentations

  -Friday, May 18th: last day to work on projects in school

  -Friday, May 25th: Project is due

their flashdrive to class with them to save their work.

For you convenience, flashdrives may be purchased

at any Ocean County Library for $6.00.

 

*During Computer Science and World Language,

Mrs. Hoden and Mrs. Roberts will be helping our

sixth graders use technology as a resource for their

Promotion Project that requires an email address. 

For these teachers to effectively help our students,

they gave students a technology permission slip

that needs a parent signiture so your sixth grader can

use grade level websites that will be an great resource

for their project on the Civil War.
